“hypocrisy”

those who say they speak for humanity

dress up in the darkest brand of nationality

including my own state of being torn

what an extent to hypocrisy!

rapidly, we become historians

though we are the mere custodians

of our own preferred schools of thought

long ago, innocence had been lost

no matter who now claims to have it

only a blurry line remains

atop the muddled bloody stains

in the name of humanitarianism . . .

what a glamorous facade!

why not call it what it is?

selective nationalism!

  1. Ah ha, dear Hülya, I love the volumes, in and of which you speak of the hypocrisy of nationalism. As far back as recorded history, as we know it, between nationalism and religion, man has hypocritically disguised and distorted his manipulations of greed, with so-called democracy or the like Thus so to control this planet’s semblance of humanity, by war and destruction. Need I mention more than today’s Syria to make the point.
This reflective treat of yours is indeed a most timely gem?
    Chapeau… mon amie!

    • Syria . . . my bleeding heart . . . not to forget the countless other “cases” of utter barbarism that the insatiable greed of the “so-called” humans inflicts upon those who have no power over the ongoing-s behind the scenes (or right before their own eyes, for that matter). Çok teşekkür ederim, sevgili dostum. / Merci beaucoup, mon cher ami!

Dear Hulya this piece titled ‘ Hypocrisy ‘ reflected the fustration of global politricks with all it’s disingenuous proclamations saturated in hypocrisy to appear as so called diplomacy without even a drop of sincerity. Playing games that impact adversely on millions of people’s lives.

    • You have read me to a T, my esteemed brother. I have been burdened by the extent to which insincerity rules on social media – platforms where I (for whatever reason) expected / hoped to see something more in terms of purity. As for the news media . . . need I say anything? I have also been self-examining, though, not in terms of my own sincerity and purity of thoughts and wishes, but rather verbal reactions. Alas! We cannot win them all.

Indeed i hear you and by the way i’m happy to read you to a ‘ T ‘ lol thank you. Very serious, significant times. Prophecy being fullfilled in real time. Thinking before we speak or write is essential because often things are misunderstood, taken out of context and or ” go over their heads ” Ofcourse not to the extent that we sacrifice our soul and originality in reguards to our craft/art. Peace,(1) love, blessings.
