. . .

a metronome woman of the old world
one pulse to the east
to the west another
carefree smiles
twist into a grimace
right on cue

  1. The old world, was this not when time actually described the actual essence of the state of its meaning…? As in the pre-built-in obsolescent era, and said young woman of the era had time to reflect, on the pros and cons of a given issue, sufficiently to react to its life changes. Alas, it seems only people of the old world have time and access to that carefree state of being.
Your reflection is formidable, though sad as to what it infers of today’s world!

    • As a “product” of the said world, I find myself living and experiencing the essential aspects of life in a state of in-betweenness. You were and are, once again, thoroughly insightful in reading me. At times, in the middle of my daily routines of work, a sense of suffocation comes over me simply because I seem unable to articulate the internal ongoings related to this “third space” in a matter that I can put my mind to rest enough.
