Internationalism
What a concept for our times!
After all, not perilous are all -isms.
Internationalism . . .
a passionate dedication to world peace . . .
hence, the key to the betterment of humanity.
I dream of the day
when, across the board,
our curricula dons finally
a sweeping devotion to humanism,
an unconditional inclusion-ism.
A dream, not impossible to make true . . .
If only
each of us
were to aspire
to inhale and exhale
as the likes of Henry La Fontaine!

Congratulations on this terrific poem, which appeared in the February 2020 issue of The Year of the Poet. As I’ve said before, my kind of, e of w, poetry that grabs your mind stays with you ever so effectively, just lives on perfectly as it should! It says it all and leaves room for the reader to think for himself. My dear professor Yilmaz, a poem that is worthy of being called a poem,

You have been lending me the affirmation we, writers, seek and rejoice in as far as our voices being heard. And I am grateful to you for reassuring me time and time again.

Add to it in context, idealism as opposed to realism highlights the schism in (ism) reflecting manmade systems socially, politically, economically etc flawed all contaminated with a much more deadly bacteria then Corona it’s the vast and deep corruption in all segments of society from the head down. Consistant with that is capitalism which makes democracy null and void. How, why? You must have the capital to participate in capitalism like chips or cash in a high stake poker game you can’t play unlees you have something to put in the pot. That leaves out most people in what they label democratic nations especially the good ‘ol’ U S A thus democracy is rendered null and void.
